Scrapps, funny you mentioned that..."what to buy..what to sell". I'm sure you noticed Dell got an upgrade from hold to buy. Can you imagine what that would have done to the stock on any other day? Now for the confession: I saw the rally this Fri AM, and got sucked into it. Kind of on impulse, I went long on Dell when it was at 97-1/4, (3/8 off the high for the day) I think around 10:15 AM EST. Well..needless to say I was shocked and stunned to see Dell drop like a rock straight and swift to 89-7/16. Eight points straight down, immediately after I went long! I figured out about the semi down grade, but needless to say I can't help but feel like the drop was my fault! -GGG-

btw: Anyone even contemplating "backing up the truck" on semi-equip makers: Read tonight's Motley Fool Evening News "Fool on the Hill" section. Highly Recommended reading. Basically it states that besides the UBS downgrades was the fact that "one of the largest semiconductor manufacturers in Taiwan", a venture of TI-Acer, announced last Thursday they would post a loss for the first half of this year, and also for the full year. DRAM prices are so low that they are operating at a loss, which means: OVERSUPPLY of DRAM on the open market -- Which means -- do the world's DRAM mfrs need to continue capital equip expenditures, when they can't make money as it is, due to over-capacity?
