robnhood, I'm not sure I understand. I did not address hedge funds specifically. I merely mentioned that raising capital gains taxes does not make sense at this time. It is well understood that capital gains taxes impact trading volumes - the higher the taxes the less trading, the lower the taxes the more trading.

With lower or no capital gains taxes, long term investors are very likely to move between issues more rapidly than they do now (or will when rates go up). I can, however, appreciate your position that active traders may be less concerned, especially in the junior resources sector.
