The deserted windswept sands silently echoed the pounding rhythm of surging surf; a lone forelorn figure approached the nearest rise and gazed northwards upwards at the grassy hillock and cliff overhanging the coastline marking the Westernmost boundary of this continent he had been crossing. In the rapidly fading sunset he glanced around as if to reassure himself that this was in fact the location, endless sands stretched away to the south and to the west was a boundless watery vista contained only by the cloudless sky at the horizon...
