How does confiscating gold help matters, since dollars aren't convertible into Gold anymore? I know the Gold Confiscation from 1933, the reasons given were, "to stop hoarding", and "prevent people from "making money" from a devaluation of the dollar (not really making money by increasing buying power, just NOT LOSING MONEY". What did the Govt do with the Gold they confiscated in 1933? I assume the REAL reason they confiscated Gold was so that they could payoff overseas holders of dollars that were convertible!!!! So they ripped off their OWN citizens to payoff FOREIGNERS!!! Ass backwards, if you ask me.
