To recall it, according to Milton Freidman, Nobel Prize winner,
Federal, State, & Municipal taxes consumed 5% of national income
in 1950. By 1994, the percentage of national income confiscated
was at least 37.5%, correlating with your info, JF. Freidman
adds that during medieval times in Europe, serfs had to forfeit only
25% of their crops to the lord of the manor. Thus, Freidman posits,
US taxpayers are worse off than even the serfs of yore. Another
way of looking at it: government has grown almost 8 times from 1950
to 1994. Now, it reaches into every nook and cranny of the lives
of its citizenry. To top it off we have a rodent as President.
As Don Corleone muttered (he never did other) in the "Godfather":
"How did things ever get so far?"

P.S. I heard a rumour today that Clinton is HIV+ and has a serious
drugg problem. He must use pancake makeup to hide an inflamed nose.
