Your assumptions are wrong.

1. Cap and trade will raise the cost of energy in the US.

No. It will raise the cost of energy coming from oil, gas, and natural gas. It will not raise the cost of energy coming from renewables.

2. Raising the cost of energy in the US will make manufacturing less competitive than it already is.


No. It will make oil, gas, and coal companies less competitive. However, it will make renewable companies more competitive.

Cap and trade is a job killer based on a false premise. I suspect it may not pass. If it does the harm will be found too late to help. Those whom Obama purports to care about the most will be hurt the most. He is an economic fool.


I hope it doesn't pass also. It's the wrong solution to the right problem. I'd rather see a direct tax with less opportunity to screw it up.
