I was with you until you compared Obama to Chavez. I don't think the two are anything alike. The GOP smear that Obama is a socialist really doesn't wash with me. It's more true to say that he is a liberal who is working on a liberal agenda.

What I like about this country is that we tend to elect the leaders we need most. Not always, but a good portion of the time. We moved so far to the right during Bush's time, that we need a liberal leader right now to move things back to the middle.

Everything is like a pendulum. If you push it so far to the right, you should expect it to swing further left for a time. But hopefully, we land near the middle most of the time. That's when this country does the best.

Honestly, I wish we would learn a few key lessons from the Chinese. They don't meddle in world affairs with their military. They focus almost exclusively on trade. They don't make incendiary comments or try to be the world's cop. Everything is about making money. If we were more like that, then we wouldn't waste so much of our money on other countries and on wars and we'd be much wealthier, instead of mired in an economic collapse.

Time to refocus on Americans for a change. And Obama is doing that.
