Korea and Vietnam were about ideology...Communism versus Democracy. WWII was about one man trying to take over the world. However, Gulf War I & II. The only war I'd say was not purely about oil was Afghanistan. Although, one has to wonder if Bin Laden would have started his jihad against us had we not occupied Saudi Arabia as a result of Gulf War I.

Again, the best thing for this country is to get off the oil asap. It will free us in more ways than one.
