GE said that GE Capital would be profitable in the first quarter and a ratings downgrade to AA would not have an operational impact. Stock was up $0.10 in the premarket. I'm not quite sure what to think about GE so long as they are profitable. Jobless claims were less than expected this morning, one indication that the assumption of endless jobs cuts might have some limitations.
