While on my way to swim yesterday, I listened to a few minutes of Rush. And his topic was----

Himself.

He is an extreme narcissist and he's playing this for all its worth. The fun part of this- I guess it's fun?-- is that I just read PFP who believe that Rush is embarrassing the WH and is a brilliant man who will mop up the floor with Obama in a debate, while the LW thinks it's a clever ploy to make the RW look silly and desperate. Someone actually mentioned his running as a third party candidate!

I happen to agree with the LW on this one. My poor mominlaw who was getting more and more appalled by the stimulus package and the increase in entitlement programs, was not at all impressed by Jindal, never could stand Palin, and thinks Rush is a complete buffoon. She is turning to Michael Steele right now, but I think that is more wishful thinking than reality. (The paradox of reality is that no image is as compelling as the one which exists only in the mind's eye-- Shana Alexander)

I noticed that with O'Reilly no longer doing his radio show, our station has put Fred Thompson in his place. Listened to a few minutes of that- he must have said "Bless your heart" five times in as many minutes.
