Our local newspaper last weekend featured a Grandfather of 41, re-enlisted with Army because his last year income was less than 20K, and in January he made 1213.
He was a Marine before, so he would not qualify for the sign up bonus. Marine did not want him back, Navy gave him a rank lower than he had hoped for, Army took him in condition he had to lose 50lbs. If he suceeds in his training, in April, his take home, including all sorts of supplementary items, would be 3933.
A couple months ago, the paper featured a 40 yr old mother of 3 enlisted, for the first time. So the family has money to live. |
