You seem to be blaming socialism for our current financial hiccup. I don't think that is quite right. IMO, the financial instabilities were brought down by the adoption of a Kleptocracy, especially in the areas of finance and health care(which is the next big one).

When Bush took office, he was strongly advised by the Heritage Foundation to bring in loyalty over expertise in his new government. That certainly accelerated us down the road to a nearly failed financial Kleptocracy. What we ended up with was a centrally planned economy(especially in housing) that dictated way too many houses would be built. There are only about 8 or 10 names in the financial arena that were responsible for the vast amount of loans. If that isn't central planning, I don't know what is.

But it isn't socialism.
