It is a non gender pronoun - a pronoun that has been neutered so successfully that it is correctly used when referring to other than male or female. It neither squats or lifts it's leg, however, it can refer to body parts, though it is not a part of the body. If you say that you will do it you are agreeing to a job or a request of someone or group to complete the job. If you say that you'll get two it right now, you will imply that you have seen two it's as in it it.
If you see too many it's or say you'll get two it too often there will be so many it it's that you may have to dig your self out of a pile of it's.
