I agree with your arguments over the longer term.

I dont believe, however that gold is immune to a deflationary environment.

Demand for Gold wiil weaken as the economies of Asia slow.

Moreover, the massive central bank gold reserves will continue to overhang the market limiting any significant price increase.

There are better safe havens than Gold at least in the short-term.

1) North American Bond markets

2) Real estate stocks tied to North american ecomies

3) Financial services companies with limited exposure to East
