If push comes to shove, he might feel it necessary to attack Iran with only a bare 'heads up' to the US.

The question is, who gives them "air rights" to the targets? They have to fly though some American controlled space. It will be a inflight fueling job. The air space over Iran could be tough.

Israel has more spies in place in Iran than anybody. To me, the best way out is to kill the Iranian nuke engineers. If they don't have anybody to design and assemble the weapons, it doesn't make any difference how deep the structures are that hold the facilities.
