I suspect the main reason they are hiding the data is that the American public would be outraged to find out how much of their bail-out money was given to foreign institutions... paying off hundreds of billions of AIG (& other) sold Credit Default Swaps which were sold with *zero* collateral to back-up payments on those contracts.
