Ad ties five House Republicans to Rush

The liberal group Americans United for Change is set to launch a radio offensive next week linking five House Republicans to Rush Limbaugh.

“First, Rush Limbaugh said of President Obama: 'I hope he fails.' Then, nearly every Republican in Congress followed Limbaugh’s lead — including Congressman Mike Castle — and voted against the president’s recovery plan and against three and a half million jobs,” an announcer says in the organization's ad hitting Delaware Rep. Mike Castle.

Then the ad challenges Castle to support Obama’s budget proposal.

“The question is — will Congressman Castle follow Rush Limbaugh’s lead again — and embrace partisanship and the failed policies of the past? Or will he work with President Obama to set America on a new course?” the ad asks.

The ad campaign is set to begin airing next week, AUFC spokesman Jeremy Funk told POLITICO. Reps. Thaddeus G. McCotter (R-Mich.), Dave Reichert (R-Wash.), Charles W. Dent (R-Pa.), and one additional Republican to be named next week will also be targeted.
