My posting record goes back plenty of years. Far more consistent than yours, and with no excuses for profligate spending by Republicans or democrats. You, on the other hand, made every excuse possible for the Bush policies.
Phony is a word I am sure you are familiar with. You claim to be a conservative and yet voted, without complaint, for the guy who did more to soclalize the financial system in this country than anybody since Roosevelt. You speak of "massive prolems occuring in this country", but didn't you see the issues before January 20th of this year? Plenty of posts from persons like myself claiming we were playing with fire, using phony budgeting techniques, paying for wars on the national credit card, expanding debt with no commensurate gain in real earnings. Mr. Bush and the republicans just trotted right along.......and so did you. Is a trillion unfunded (budget and off budget items) worse than on budget? Hint: they are both bad!
So now libertarians are supposed to just buy into the fact that guys like Boehner and McConnell got "fiscal religion". Nope.
It's fair to ask just how we got in this mess with such fiscally prudent managers as the republicans in charge for so long...
I'm not happier with the Obama budget grab than you, but democrats spend. They tax and they spend. The sheer size right now is shocking, but how can they get away with it? Cause the republicans abrogated their responsibility in governing, got blown out in two elections, and right now we are effectively a one party system...
I'm looking for a REAL alternative. The old republicans aren't it.
I won't give McConnell or Boehner a pass now when they were spineless leaders before. The Democrats won largely because Bush poisoned the well for anybody who made sense on the republican side (like Ron Paul). And McCain/Palin made no sense at all. (I don't think McCain got the economic issues right up to election time). Time for new leadership in the republican party so somebody can believe what the leaderhship says without flashing back to the 2002 Farm Bill, the Medicare Part D program, and two wars....all unfunded and all driven by republicans. |
