Anyone can look smart if buoyed by the *system* at every turn.

Affirmative action in college admissions to make up for lost afternoons snorting coke and smoking j's.

Hangin' with the people who can hook you up in Chicago machine politics regardless of their backgrounds or questionable business activities.

Being allowed to vote "present" while purporting to actually represent constituents.

Running for President and having only to answer fuzzy questions like *how does it feel to be running for President?*

Appointing cheats and crooks to your administration, knowing the press won't balk or criticize.

Deceiving the public as to the true aims of the economic upheaval you're engineering and what is actually necessary to correct our financial ills, as the press stands around holding their collective appendages and nodding sagely.

Meanwhile, the economic health of the whole world is at stake.
But the self-indulgent BO is only interested in treating our economy and our country like some big socio-economic experiment
just because he can.

So, maybe he is smart.

Where does that leave the rest of us---the mere mortals?
