One wld hope, George, that one could differentiate between "industry practice" and "political expediency." CB's are flexing muscles in t'latter. The truth about the former is: there is a finite supply both above and below ground. Gold demand is primarily a function of jewellery and electronic usage w/coins coming in 3rd. Until the day comes when: we don't decorate ourselves, go back to the waxed string and tin cans, or need coinage, I would suggest that the INDUSTRY PRACTICE formula is alive and well.
