Subtlety does not belong in the language of politics, it belongs in the language of poetry (which is probably why I noticed and made that point, come to think of it. -g) Issues of race, indeed all the horrific issues we're now refacing in terms of restructuring the underpinnings of our country, should be couched in very clear language. That allows for the public to have a good clean discussion about the situation without getting into the translation issue we've gotten into here. I told a friend by PM last night that I, too, am getting tired of the partisanship politics here and will do my part to dial it back. I recommended your post. And I appreciate it.
