People believe what they want to believe. It doesn't matter what they see or hear. That's precisely how we got into this mess. The facts were there all along that we were headed for disaster. Many on SI saw it coming but most thought we were just pessimistic, out of touch non conformists. For the Fed to say "no-one could have seen this coming" is just a blatant lie. Many saw it coming and did something about it. People believe what is most convenient for them to believe. That which requires the least effort. To believe our government is corrupt, even though the evidence is everywhere, is not convenient.
