Sort of like having slaves = if others have them, you have to too, to be competitive, which doesn't say much for the ethics involved: < They aren't bludging taxpayers by treating medicare/medicaid patients. If you turn medicaid/medicare away there is no way to stay in business.> Everyone else is doing it, so the Catholic Church has to get their nose in the trough too.

The fact is if they are on the receiving end of taxpayer money, then they are bludging on taxpayers. No need to feel bad about owning slaves or sucking blood from tax payers - just admit it and get on with it. Maoris used to EAT their slaves too. That's just how it was done.

I'm just suggesting a better way of life than owning slaves or taxpayer serfs.

They could actually run a hospital without getting taxpayer money, it would just not be such a big business. They could run one based on voluntary payments only being welcome, so people paying for themselves, or people with medical insurance would be the customers.
