I presume its an attempt to takeover control of Catholic hospitals. The Catholic church got out of the adoption arrangement business in MA when the state told them they had to make adoptions to same sex couples. They would shut down their hospitals before doing abortions. 573 Catholic hospitals treated 84.7 million patients in 2005 usccb.org
