You couldn't make the claim because UNT is not part of the UT system. You could, however, claim to be a Teasip if you graduated from UT El Paso.

You could claim it but it would be misleading.

If there is a difference between "Ivy League" schools and others (and there certainly is in terms of perception), it is meaningless if graduates of non-Ivy league schools can legitimately claim they graduated from Ivy-league siblings.

The same applies all the way around. Attending LSU in Shreveport is certainly not the same educational experience as attending LSU. Attending UT Arlington is certainly not the same as UT, no matter what you call it.

Attending some Cornell ag school is not the same as Cornell.
