there is also heating assistance. i got our aide's friend in contact with state and he qualified for some money to help pay his heating costs in a trailer... and he had a social worker helping him who missed it. g

his income is too large for most benefits like medicaid, but he has qualified for earned income tax forgiveness, rebate on real estate tax, energy rebate, then again he doesn't qualified for medical or food stamps so you really need to go through all the programs.

he is on kidney machine three times a week and has many, many medical problems.

state pa doesn't count ira withdrawals as taxable income.. yet for realestate tax credit they do.. some count all of your soc sec.. some half of it some none of it. depends really on how program was written or since modified.
