How interesting you should say that. It exactly matches my observations, which is that the malls are empty of buyers but the midrange restaurants, like On The Border, are still doing a very brisk business on the weekends.

Lazy Boy just went out of business last week and a local Kohls is closing next week. The problems are starting to hit the bigger names. I am in awe that Sears is still around.

I am seeing some minor activity at Home Depot and Lowes, but it looks to be barely enough for them to cover their ongoing costs (like electricity, heat, and store employee pay).
