Well, Mephisto, I was thinking about buying a Jag, actually. I really cannot resist their beautiful lines, but have so far controlled myself. I just think right now, my money would be better invested in the market, so that when I do buy a Jag I will be able to support it!!!
My Mercedes sat in the garage because the garage was esoteric or something!!! You know, Mercedes repair as an art rather than a science!! There was never anything wrong with it that would have taken THAT long to fix, but the garage is furnished with giant chess sets and tanks of beautiful fish, and nice music. The mechanics are into really enjoying their lives at work, for labor charges of $74.00 an hour!!! I guess a couple of times there were long searches for the correct parts, sent Fed Ex from Germany I bet, but also once when my husband went to VISIT our car, everyone was standing around it eating pizza off the roof!!! I bet it liked being rubbed and cuddled and loved that way by all those European guys!!!!!
Anyway, now it is owned by someone who can afford the luxury, and will just appreciate its fine lines and sturdy chrome and the burgundy cherry interior and everything. The buyer is like me--she appreciates beauty and doesn't much care for cars with computers and voices telling you to turn off the lights, and plastic bumpers.
Mephisto, I found out the most interesting thing about bulbs!!! While October is a wonderful month to plant bushes of all sort, and believe me I have done just that, the bulb guy advised me not to plant those 213 bulbs until mid-November in this climate, because on a warm, sunny day like the ones we are having now, they might think it is spring and start sprouting!!!! So I am learning a lot about gardening. Most of our back yard is patio, because our house is way up on a terraced hillside in the forest, but there is one side that is earth, about 20' x 8', and in that small plot I have about 30 flowering plants growing, and that is where the bulbs will go, also. I am trying to approximate an Irish cottage garden, with beautiful colors just spilling out everywhere, and old-fashioned plants, so that when I actually move there I will have an easy go of it. Eden in front of the chicken coop!!! As I understand it, the only real tricks are to plant the tallest things in the back, gradually moving down towards the front, and try to get heirloom plants, not the most modern hybrids. It will all be very interesting, I am sure!!!
Ha!!! We both have a love of chaos!!! I try to keep mine well organized, though!!! Do you? |
