Government spending has a role in stimulus. But it should be subservient and complementary to private sector economic growth. A well crafted stimulus plan would seek to immediately put funds into consumers' hands to be spent in ways determined by individuals.

What we're seeing here is a long drawn out list of social programs and pet projects that have nothing to do with stimulating an economy.
