Elmer, <I'll take $1.57 Billion worth of disappointment any day.> Your seem to be on SI chat thread, not on Intel's board of directors.

I do not care how much R&D they will buy for $1.57B.
First, probably none because in order to maintain their profitable image they even stopped the new Fab in Texas.

Second, if their R&D goes in direction to hold their monopolistic pants up, it is worth nothing as well.

Third, it does not look like Intel was overloaded by own R&D since all their "innovations" in sixth-generation processors were just stolen from DEC. See for fun
exchange2000.com
For seventh generation, they are just a foundry for Hewlett-Packard. This says a lot about quality of their own R&D. Most probably, their whole stock buy-back plan was written of as R&D:-))

<Your failure to look beyond the newspaper headlines explains why you still support this stock.> I am not supporting anything. I just want to point out the nonsense you flooded the AMD thread with. And I am not looking on newspaper headlines. I just see the Wall Street reaction. You personall disappointment or "appointment" does not matter whatsoever.

<AMD could have a future, but not with the current management and the current business plan.> IMHO, AMD is doing the best job they can. The minor technical problem with yield in 233 bin is most likely related to some bug fixes and associated shift in critical path. In takes some time to optimize that path at gate/mask level. And the best job AMD did is the desruction of Intel monopolistic model. That is why I can buy the best computer now at below $2000, and your shares are back to $80 and will drop well below $70. Was that an exciting long-term investment for you?

Get real and get lost from AMD thread with your repeated remarks.
