Its been my experience that when a stock takes a big tumble is not the time to be buying puts, unless there is some systemic problem with the company, like a major lawsuit or criminal investigation. The time to buy puts is when the stock is high and somewhat vulnerable. So I would imagine the majority of these put purchases is purely emotional.

All I got to say is that if CUBE goes to 15, I am buying a heck of a lot of those Year 2000 LEAPs.
