John Boehner, has called for a federal spending freeze for the rest of the year.

How is that Bush's policy? Bush did the exact opposite.

I wish he had frozen federal spending (or better than an actual freeze, and intelligent adjustment of spending leaving the total equal to or lower than it had been), but I don't support it right at this moment, the timing isn't right, I don't think it should increase nearly as much as Obama and congress have been increasing it.

If the free market party doesn’t offer the public an honest appraisal of capitalism’s weaknesses,

The free market has problems and "market failures". The problem with saying that "we've had a market failure, so we need to greatly increase the role of government", is that government is also subject to failures and mistakes, and also when it increases its involvement it can distort the incentives of the operators in the market, increasing their frequency of mistakes, and also increasing their incentive and ability to manipulate government to their own narrow advantage.
