Another major university faces a shortfall in funds to operate... CORNELL UNIVERSITY, facing a budget deficit, will cut endowment spending by 15 percent and raise as much as $500 million from selling bonds. The university, in Ithaca, New York, authorized the sale of taxable bonds to provide working capital, President David Skorton said in a statement posted March 6 on the school’s Web site. The school faces a 10 percent budget shortfall, a deficit of more than $200 million. -Bloomberg 03-10-09
