....without knowing all the long-term ramifications We DO know the ramifications of continued massive deficit spending... inflation. Is that bad? If a country is at war and needs money for ammunition... well, it prints money. Inflation is better than losing the war. (Maybe. Germany and Japan did pretty well after losing...) In peacetime... want to cut a $20 trillion deficit in half? Let inflation run at 10% for around 4 years.
