President Obama said he would consider deploying National Guard troops to control violence along the US-Mexico border during an interview Wednesday.

The situation is out of control. Obama should stop considering and just deploy troops. Protect American citizens from these foreign invaders.

The president said he did not have any interest in "militarizing the border."

"We expect to have a comprehensive approach to dealing with these issues of border security that will involve supporting [Mexico President Felipe] Calderon and his efforts," Obama said, according to McClatchy. "Our expectation is to have a comprehensive policy in place in the next few months."

This laissez-faire "comprehensive policy" approach has obviously not worked. On Calderon's watch, drug problems have increased. We should not waste time dealing with him. He is worse than useless.

"I don't have a particular tipping point in mind," Obama told the reporters. "I think it's unacceptable if you've got drug gangs crossing our borders and killing U.S. citizens."

We're beyond the tipping point. Doing something yesterday is still too late.

Our gov't issues travel advisories to mexico due to the violence there, yet see no need to seal the borders??. Pathetic. I say: IRRESPONSIBLE...
