That is, that Congress supported Bush's war policy out of respect for the fact we had suffered the 9/11 attack "crisis"?

It is ridiculous. Congress hasn't done that since the Rs did it in FDR's first 100 days.

Congress has a responsibility to vote its collective conscience and if they fail to do so they can't come back later on and claim it was out of deference to the crisis. They're f*cking responsible for their votes.

Talk about trying re-write history. You people.


Votes were cast by dems that were exactly in deference to the realities of the post 911 national psyche...unfortunately...and fortunately, now the country is wiser given the events that followed. It's a reality you can't deny...sadly, given the opportunity to shine or blunder, bush did the latter far more often and with dire consequences and he exited with exactly the approval ratings he deserved. I am not re-writing history...you are denying it.
