Inode, > Yeah, and there IS the fact that states can hardly afford to pay teachers what they're already being paid. I like how people think $200K/year is going to attract better talent into the teaching profession. Guess who gets laid off first when the government can't pay those high salaries? The newest teachers, i.e. the very "talent" that was supposed to be attracted in the first place. The teachers with the most seniority, i.e. the teachers who are part of the problem instead of part of the solution, will not only keep their jobs, but they'll also keep their cushy salary and benefits.
