Hi Tekgk, I hate to burst your bubble, but from everything I can see, gold also tanks during a melt-down. Check HM during 1987 - it dropped 55% of it's value during the crash... Maybe I am missing something, but I only use gold as a speculative vehicle when the guys over on the gold and mining threads are going bonkers... check the HM thread and my discussions there - tried to get people out before this sell-off... so many threads, so little time!!!
