global warming and its effects upon our environment both presently and the possibility of dire consequences for the future. Now Coleman comes along and dismisses it all.

John Coleman stated that, ' Scientists with environmental and political motives manipulated long-term scientific data to create and illusion of rapid warming.' The question is to what end? What is the purpose behind such an elaborate created illusion? Coleman provides no clear-cut answer in his argument against the validity of global warming nor does he provide adequate theory of speculation to debunk global warming on any real type of solid ground. Although Coleman states that he has read dozens of scientific papers, talked with numerous scientists and has a meterological background still his statement carries no more than sheer opinionated weight.

Coleman says that our planet is not in peril. The truth of the matter is that the debate on global warming remains open. There is scientific arguments both for and against global warming. One could argue that there is just as much evidence if not more for the case of global warming. Scientists continue to document changes taking place in the Arctic and Antarctic, rising sea levels, retreating ice sheets and the effects of the overall greenhouse effect. So we are faced with the choice of accepting the obvious implications of climatic changes or preparing ourselves to accept an explanation of flawed analysis and falsified data. Where does the truth lie?
