I am sure. If your goal is pure politics, then pushing off the mess to the next guy should be your top priority.

Clinton did it, and it paid off handsomely.

Bush tried to with those "stimulus checks," but that was way too little too late. The financial sector collapsed, and the $750B bailout that followed also became too little too late.

Obama may find a little more success in pushing off the next mess to whoever inherits it. The Fed may be running out of ammo, but Obama will make up for it by letting Pelosi and Reid spend like drunken sailors, all the while giving lip service against earmarks and wasteful spending. Doesn't matter if the mess is going to be even bigger than before, as long as it's not Obama's.

Remember, the goal is pure politics, i.e. do whatever it takes to claim credit for the good and blame the other guy for the bad. Is it good for the nation? Who cares, as long as you get to win a pissing match?
