My ex girl friend from (we are both from Sacramento) who has dual citizenship... says just that.

She's lived in Canada about 20 years and she's an exceptionally sharp person who is a Libertarian at heart too.

Well, perhaps she hasn't REALLY needed the system?

- A February 28, 2006 article in The New York Times quoted Dr. Brian Day as saying, “This is a country in which dogs can get a hip replacement in under a week and in which humans can wait two to three years.”

- 57% of Canadians reported waiting 4 weeks or more to see a specialist

Canada's system is well-recognized as a train wreck. But it is a fact that younger people tend not to have had to deal with it, so perhaps your ex is either young or lucky.
