Jim Cramer will appear on The Daily Show tonight, 11 pm eastern on Comedy Central. Kind of makes me wonder if the Cramer/Stewart Feud was all a publicity stunt. However, it did lead to a very funny skit.

On the handoff to "The Colbert Report," Colbert tried to bribe Stewart to take a dive and let Cramer pound him.

"Why do you want me to lose the argument to Cramer?"

"I have a big bet on him to win. It's the only way I can make back the money I lost following his advice." <G>

The answer to the problem is easy. Have a neutral party tag all the stocks Cramer advised to buy or sell at the opening of the day after he recommended them and then take them off the list at the opening the day after he closes out the trade. That's how mutual fund managers live and die. It is brutal, but it is honest. I've seen him make great and terrible recommendations, but I don't watch him that often, so I have no clue as to whether or not he closed the trades or when he closed them, if he did. These sorts of shows should do this automatically, but then it might be hard to use a network theme of "In Cramer We Trust." <VBG>

BTW, other "showdown" shows on The Daily Show have been pretty weak. After running a series about Dick Cheney called, "You Don't Know Dick," Stewart rolled over and tossed softballs at Mrs. Cheney when she appeared on the show. I can't blame him on that one, as there is no way to win or look good against a woman who simply talks like she loves her man. I would even toss cream puffs at Eva Braun.

He did rough up McCain a bit for caving in to Bob Jones University and Jerry Falwell. But you could tell that he liked McCain.
