Isn't that exactly what Bush thought, with his Shock and Awe?

Listen, we didn't need to do anything in Iraq. What has it bought us but $1 trillion extra in debt? The real game was in Afghanistan and Pakistan and we took our eye off the ball so the Taliban and Al Qaeda could regroup while we wasted our time, lives, and money in Iraq.

I truly am happy for the Iraqis that they have freedom and looks like a budding Democracy. But was it worth it to Americans? What do we get out of the deal for all of our treasure and lives spent? Where's the cost/benefit?

Imagine had we taken that $1 trillion and spent it on renewable energy to power America instead! We'd be darn close to energy independent right now and wouldn't need to give a shit about the Middle East at all.
