I'm not sure what your point is. FDR HIMSELF wanted a balanced budget. Morgenthau wanted it, as did others, but FDR wanted it. Conservatives in congress had zero to do with it.

You're talking about the most powerful politician since Washington. Hell, he didn't campaign for his last two elections. In fact, he said, "I don't want it" and was elected anyway.

Your suggestion that he was acting out of fear of a few conservatives in congress is ridiculous and reflects what can only be described as a total ignorance of the Roosevelt administration.

Had you read a book in the last six years you might know just how stupid this is.
