Hell, he didn't campaign for his last two elections. In fact, he said, "I don't want it" and was elected anyway. Your suggestion that he was acting out of fear of a few conservatives in congress is ridiculous and reflects what can only be described as a total ignorance of the Roosevelt administration. Had you read a book in the last six years you might know just how stupid this is.
