Barry, Switzerland is already dead as a safe haven. The Caymans and Bahamas are taking in much more money today, especially since the Swiss banks have eaten crow over stealing from gassed Jewish folks.

The selling by Asian tigers is not significant. They don't have much. Switzerland is more significant, but my guess is that this causes such a disaster that they pull in their horns after a few months. Especially when people start to say, "Franc-ly, my dear, we don't give a damn!" -g-

Seriously, given our trade and budget deficits and phony accounting, I don't see the dollar as the long term haven of value. Precious metals may not be the answer, but right now, I don't see another in the offing. MB
