This URL is the specialist group so it's NOT a contrary indicator, it is based on specialist short positions. If you take of the /charts/csp... it will give you the root which shows non-specialist contrary indicators. Pretty helpful.
It's interesting what you are seeing about the bearishness on gold even though Barron's is saying bullish, I don't trust the media too much on financial matters so I find this suspicious.

My personal outlook is more slaughter for a short while (I hope so as I'm in puts once again...gaggg) but then I expect a good run but I'm keeping nimble, I don't like preconceived notions.

Oils look great, drillers are also going like mad and are STILL way undervalued. The Toronto Globe and Mail ran an article a few weeks ago something to the effect 'are the drillers at the top'. I knew right then that there must be more upside as the Globe is completely full of &#@^*!! Everytime they run an article on something it does the opposite. The last sucker punch was saying that Aluminum was going to take off, YEH RIGHT!! A few days later, Alcan released horrible losses because of low sales in asia and DOWWWWN she went. The Globe of course was dumbfounded but didn't dwell on the matter, just change the subject and move on, lots more lies to tell the little people -ggg-
