Emile, with regards to Luke 17:20,21 are you trying to tell me to ignore the fact that Jesus was speaking to the Pharisees, who he earlier referred to as hypocrites. What about the KJ marginal reference? What about the prophecies refering to the kingdom of God crushing the nations? What about Jesus concluding a covenant for a kingdom and the Apostles writing that they were still in expectation of it, long after holy spirit being poured out?
Are we to ignore the entire Word of God to believe that the Pharisees had the same Kingdom in their heart that you want us to have in our heart. Jesus is a real King and not just a condition of the heart. Are we to minimize his personal role in vindicating God's Sovereignty? He has legions of heavenly armies at his command as he told Peter in the garden. Who will fullfill the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation? A condition of the heart? No, Jesus will by means of that Kingdom.
Has any man who claims to have the Kingdom in his heart been able to cure diseases, stop old age, resurrect the Dead, calm the seas and allow the Deserts to blossom as the rose. The Bible says the Kingdom will do all these things and more. The Kingdom is not in my heart, it is in heaven and it will excercise its will, as Jesus taught us to pray, "on the Earth."
Emile, we need to have a scriptural foundation for our statements. Luke 17:20, 21 clearly shows that the Kingdom of God is not a condition of the heart, or else you would be saying that the Pharisees had the Kingdom in their hearts as well. We do need to have the "law of the Christ" written on our hearts though. By being footstep followers of the Christ then we will gain admittance into this real Kingdom. |
