What do you think John McCain, who seemed to have a very difficult time talking about basic economics during the campaign, would have done differently. Reappoint Hank Paulson? Honestly, the republicans provided no serious choice.. Remember, a continuation of the Bush Administration is not what people wanted..Check back to the leadup to TARP One and remember just how clueless Bush/Paulson were at that time. We were supposed to be buying bad assets...not investing in the institutions themselves. TARP started bad and just seems to have gotton worse. The big criticism now is that Obama/Geithner is channelling Bush/Paulson!
