I'm listening to a mind-bogglingly well recorded Super Audio CD right this minute. It's Hell or High Water, by Sara K, on the audiophile Stockfisch label.
This is a DSD recording, produced, recorded and mixed at Pauler Acoustics in Norheim, Germany. The audio quality is stunning, the multichannel mix is superb, and I like the music a lot, as well.
Highly recommended. I found it at Acoustic Sounds. acousticsounds.com
Expensive, but worth it.
You can get it from Amazon, too, but they don't specify that it's the SACD version, so I'd be suspicious.
Sara K has always recorded for audiophile labels. Previously, she was on Chesky Records. Evidently, her upcoming release from Stockfisch will be her last record. She's retiring from performing and recording. |
