Nationwide law enforcement has been diverted from protecting citizens to ripping them off. Crimes against persons and property are being ignored because officers see themselves as drug enforcement agents. They go after low hanging fruit. The easy stuff. And ignore real crime. Now the federal government has established procedures where completely innocent people can be shaken down and nothing can be done about it. The war on drugs has converted law enforcement into highway robbers. And east Texas is only an example of something that is taking place nationwide. If all drugs were legalized tomorrow, many LEO's wouldn't know what to do with themselves.
